There is a manual release, it's located behind a square piece of trim on the bottom of the lift gate. I just changed the batteries in both fobs. I haven't tried the other yet but can't get hatch to lock even using inside door lock button. Will try the other fob but I know new batteries were good. Somebody mentioned the BCM... May want to first check your fuse box to make sure the liftgate fuse wasn't somehow blown during battery replacement. :edit: Also if fuse looks good, another step you can try is to manually open and close the liftgate using the emergency latch inside. a '16 CX9 user fixed theirs by disconnecting battery terminal but that was for a windshield ... Aug 1, 2020 · If fuses are good, disconnect the battery and depress the brake pedal for 30 seconds to ensure the BCM is completely powered down, then reconnect battery and try again. If it still won't open, try unlocking all doors, then opening and closing the liftgate manually from the inside (instructions available in the online owner's manual). The backup camera that I have is a strip and must be mounted to the license plate holes, so I routed the wire through the hole underneath the plastic cover for the light right above the plate. .
